Many customers set up their Kevo account years ago using an email address they were using at the time.
When signing in on a new phone, you may choose options like:
- Continue with Apple
- Continue with Google
If the email associated with your Apple or Google account is different from your original Kevo account email, a new Kevo account is created automatically.
Since this new account has never been used before, it will not have any locks associated with it—making it appear as though your lock has disappeared.
How to Fix the Issue
You have two options to get your lock back:
Option 1 – Sign In Using Your Original Email
- Open the Kevo mobile app.
- Sign out of your current session.
- Select Continue with Email.
- Sign in using the email address originally used to set up your Kevo account.
Once signed in, your lock should appear again.
Option 2 – Update Your Account Email
If you prefer to use your current email address going forward:
- Go to the Kevo web portal:
mykevo.unikey.com - Sign in using your Apple or Google email.
- From your profile page, Account Actions menu select Delete My Account.
- Follow the instructions in the Delete Your Kevo Account email that is sent to you.
- After completing the account deletion process, return to mykevo.unikey.com.
- Sign in using your original Kevo account email.
- From your profile page, Account Actions menu select Change Primary Email.
- Enter your new email address and confirm the change.
After updating your email, you can sign in with the Kevo mobile app using your preferred email address.
Important Notes
- Your lock is still linked to your original Kevo account, not the new one created with Apple or Google sign-in.
- Signing in with the correct account will restore access immediately.
- If you do not remember your original email address, try checking older emails for Kevo-related messages.
