Overview
Resetting a Kevo lock removes all existing eKeys, user access, and enrollment data from the lock. After a reset, the lock returns to a factory‑default state and must be enrolled again before it can be used.
⚠️ Kevo 1 and Kevo 2 locks use slightly different reset procedures. Follow the instructions that match your lock model.
When You Should Reset the Lock
A reset is appropriate in the following situations:
- You have sold your home and want to remove all eKeys and access so the new owner can set up the lock.
- You want to start over by removing all existing users and permissions.
- The lock is enrolled to an account you no longer control.
- You accidentally deleted your eKey and you were the Owner of the lock.
- Support has instructed you to reset the lock as part of troubleshooting.
Important Things to Know Before Resetting

- All users and eKeys will be permanently removed.
- Physical access to the lock is required.
- After resetting, the lock must be re‑enrolled in the Kevo mobile app.
